About me

Hi! My name is Judith

I am a wife and mother to 5 grown-up children and step-children and have two grandsons. I live in the north-west of England, where I enjoy long walks in the country with my husband and my jack russell Lulu. Until recently I worked at a girls' grammar school, teaching Textiles and Food Technology. My passion has always been anything to do with fabric and colour.

I trained at the London College of Fashion but after a spell in the fashion industry I gave up work to look after my family. I continued to undertake private commissions and later set up my own children's wear design business which suited me well while my children were small. As my children entered their teens I returned to studying and trained to be a teacher, but continue to consider it a priority (for my sanity!) to make time for creative pursuits. I have explored many different areas from clothing and bridal commissions to patchwork and applique. I also enjoy card making.

I am so excited about the recent renewed interest in sewing and crafts, thanks to the likes of Kirstie Allsopp and the GBSB, and after several requests from friends and local people I have decided to set up this blog to share my enthusiasm with all you likeminded people out there. I hope you like my initial attempts at blogging! Please drop me a line or post a comment.
